FAQ's

  1. I have never fired a gun in my life, and I am interested in learning. Is there anyone there at your range that could help me out?

Our professional staff will happily give you basic instruction on how to safely handle, load, and fire the firearm you are interested in shooting/purchasing. If you are interested in more in-depth instruction, ask about one of our training classes.

  1. I have never been to your range/store before. How do I bring in my firearm?

All firearms need to be unloaded, action open and magazine removed prior to entering the building and also leaving the range. Firearms may be brought in-hand; however, a gun case or bag is preferred.

  1. Do you offer training classes?

Yes. We offer a wide variety of training classes from new beginners to advanced shooters. Give us a call or check out our training class schedule on our website to set up a time with one of our certified instructors.   

  1. Do you buy and sell used guns?

Yes, we buy used guns for cash as well as “trade-ins”. Your trade-in may be credited toward the purchase of a new or used firearm. We can also sell your firearm on a consignment basis.

  1. Do you have rental firearms?

Yes, we have rental handguns and long guns. If you use a rental firearm, you must use ammunition purchased at Shooters Station Arms. Our staff is happy to help you select a firearm that works best for you.

  1. I’m looking for a specific item. How can I find out if you have it in stock?

Please call the store or visit us! If we don’t have it in-stock, we can most likely order it and have it shipped to our store. You can also check out our online store: http://shop.shootersstation.com/

  1. May I bring my own guns to shoot there?

Yes, although Black Powder firearms are not allowed at our facility. If in doubt about your specific gun/ammo combination, you may ask an employee before shooting.

  1. May I bring my own ammunition to shoot there?

Yes, but we do not allow steel core ammo. You must purchase our range ammunition to shoot in our rental guns.

  1. May I bring my own targets to shoot there?

Yes, you may bring your own paper or cardboard targets, however please be respectful in your choice of targets. We also carry a wide variety of paper targets.

  1. Do you accept firearm transfers?

Yes, we do. Please call or visit our store to fill out the transfer paperwork. We will need to know the firearm’s make, model, and item number, as well as the dealer’s information, so that we may contact them.

  1. How old must you be to buy ammunition?

You must always present a valid government-issued photo ID and be at least 18 years of age to purchase rifle ammunition, and at least 21 years of age to purchase handgun ammunition.

  1. Do you give law enforcement and active military discounts?

We discount the range time for certified law enforcement officers and active duty military personnel.

  1. Do you host private events?

At Shooters Station Arms we have a variety of group packages available to accommodate your next event, whether it be a birthday party, bachelor/bachelorette party, team building event, fund raiser or just a fun night out! Please contact Jenn@shootersstation.com for more details.

  1. I am not a TX resident. Can I still shoot there?

Yes, as long as you meet the age and ID requirements.

  1. How old do children have to be to shoot on your range?

As long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, children eight years of age and older are welcome. This is subject to change on a case-by-case basis.

  1. Do you offer gunsmithing services?

We do in-house cleaning and gunsmithing.

  1. What restrictions do you have on ammunition shot there?

Armor-piercing, steel core, tracer, and incendiary ammunition is strictly prohibited. If in doubt about your specific gun/ammo combination, you may ask an employee before shooting.

  1. Do you sell Personal Defense ammunition, as well as target ammunition?

Yes, we stock an extensive line of Cor-Bon, Speer Gold Dot, as well as Federal, Hornady, and Winchester among others in selected calibers/weights.

  1. Do you custom order firearms?

Yes, we can special order firearms for you through our vast supplier network. We also accept FFL transfers.

  1. Can I bring my AR-15, AK/SKS, or .308 rifle to shoot there?

Yes.

  1. I own some full-auto guns. Can I shoot them there?

You are welcome to shoot your LEGALLY OWNED select-fire or full-auto guns here. If you are in doubt about shooting your particular gun here, give us a call.

  1. May I draw from a holster?

Yes, but in order to ensure the safety of our customers and staff please call ahead so we can accommodate you.

  1. May I shoot one-handed?

Yes, provided that you do so in a safe and controlled manner.

  1. May I shoot two guns at the same time, like I see in movies?

NO. The gun-handling that you typically see in movies is unrealistic and unsafe, and we do not allow it here.

  1. May I bring my camera?

Yes, but you may only photograph members of your party or our display firearms. Photographing other patrons, range personnel, or our facility’s security features is strictly prohibited.
